Call for Session Proposals! 2008 FLAME Conference March 6 and 7, 2008 in Portland, MaineThe Foreign Language Association of Maine (FLAME) invites language teachers and other interested educators to submit proposals for 60- or 90-minute workshop sessions on topics of world language interest, including ESL, to be held in March 2008 at the Holiday Inn by the Bay in Portland, Maine. Why Become a Presenter?
And remember, you don't have to present alone! Swap shops and panel discussions are also desired, as are sessions conducted in the target languages. But if we can't convince you to become a presenter, please encourage colleagues whom you would recommend as workshop presenters to submit a proposal. If attending the dinner and keynote on the evening of March 6, 2008, presenters must pay the appropriate fee. Presenters who are currently teaching in Maine are required to be current members of FLAME. The membership requirement is only waived for presenters coming from other states. FLAME does not pay an honorarium, provide funds for a substitute teacher, or provide reimbursement for travel and printing expenses. ***Please note that you should plan and bring materials for an audience of 50. If printing of materials is a hardship for you, please contact Frank Troyan, and help can be provided. It is very frustrating for workshop participants if there are not enough handouts available. |
