GET YOUR STUDENTS INVOLVED!!FLAME Student Video ContestHere is an opportunity to get your students involved! Invite them to create a video in the target language and submit it the FLAME Student Video Contest.
Student Video Requirements:s. *Videos must be submitted by a current FLAME member. *Videos must be in a modern or classical language. *Videos must show student effort to communicate in the target language. *Videos must be no more than 10 minutes in length. *Videos will be grouped according to level (elementary, middle school and high school) and will be judged on accurate use of target language and creativity. *Please indicate student names, language and level, school and teacher's name.
Note: Cash prizes will be awarded to the winner(s) at each level. Winners will also be mentioned in FLAME News, the FLAME biannual newsletter and on the FLAME website.
Please submit all videos to Mirna Reyes-Henderson, Foxcroft Academy, 975 West Main St., Dover-Foxcroft, ME 04426, by January 31, 2008. For more information, contact Mirna at 564-8351 or mirna.henderson@foxcroftacademy.org .
The Student Activities committee will review all nominations and make the final decision. The winners will be announced at the FLAME Conference on March 7, 2008.
FLAME Student Poster Contest Another opportunity to get your students involved is the FLAME Poster Contest. Students at any level of foreign language study can participate by submitting a poster that reflects the theme: Languages--Opening Doors to our Future. A cash prize will be awarded to the winner at each level. Student Poster requirements: 1. Posters must be submitted by a current FLAME member. 2. Posters will be judged on creativity and correct usage of a modern or classical language. 3. Posters can be created by individual students or groups of students working together. 4. Posters must be larger than 8 x 11. 5. Teachers are asked to submit no more than 4 posters per level (or grade) taught. Therefore a teacher who engages all of his/her students in the poster project will need to choose and submit only four examples. 6. Each poster should be labeled with the teacher’s name, school, address, level of language or grade, and names of all students who worked on the poster. 7. The poster submissions can be brought to the FLAME conference and submitted during the registration time or mailed to Mirna Reyes-Henderson, Foxcroft Academy, 975 West Main St., Dover-Foxcroft, ME 04426.
