Student Recognition Award

Criteria for Selection

The nominee must have studied a minimum of four years of at least one language. The student may be enrolled in the fourth-year-level when nominated.

The nominee must have a record of outstanding scholarship and of service to the school.

Nomination Procedures

bulletThe candidate must be nominated by a FLAME member.
bulletThe nominator must submit letters of recommendation from modern and classical language teachers and either an administrator or a guidance counselor.
bulletNominators must submit evidence of the nominee’s proficiency in the language. Evidence includes grades, national test scores, and achievement test scores.
bulletThe nominee must submit an account of his/her service to the school and/or modern and classical language department.
bulletThe nominee may include evidence of participation in language clubs.

The FLAME Advisory Board will then review all nominations and make the final decision.

A monetary gift of $200 cash will be presented to the Student of the Year by a school official at the student's graduation and/or award ceremony.
