The 01-23-02 meeting of the Gamers' Guild was held in the Gallery, in the Union.
Minutes:
- Rob will look for a good time to have casual game night. He also mentioned a Magic Booster Tourney.
- I'm stepping down from my position as President some time in the next few weeks. I
have some unfinished business as president that I would like to complete, but I
will be sure to give everyone notice of my departure from the office. I will
still go to meetings and try to help the Guild out, but I'm no longer interested
in an officer's position. Ried Snyder will assume the role of President after
my departure.
- "Gamer Love" - Various ways of bringing the Guild closer together were discussed.
Names of various ongoing games were thrown around, Nick offered to run Wheel of
Time this Saturday night. I'm thinking about running a D&D-style game of some
sort later on in the semester, if I can find the time.
- UMFcon and Portcon were discussed. Portcon was generally considered by the members
present to be the one to really shoot for, but we can probably manage to go to
both. Transportation can be provided by the University in the form of vans, but
the University will not pay for any convention fees.
- We discussed using $100 of our $200 budget to pay for the cards for Rob's Booster
Tournament.
- We discussed the Guild Logo contest. The winner of the contest could be awarded $50.
- Ben Spaulding has a Vampire: The Eternal Struggle beginner's tournament scheduled for this February.
We will get updates and reminders.
- Contact info for the Husson Game Club:
Chris Michaud, President.
