Graduate School Has Opened Nominations for 2012-13 Financial Awards

The Graduate School is currently accepting nominations for competitively-awarded fellowships, assistantships and scholarships for the 2012-13 academic year (guidelines and e-nomination form).  The nomination deadline for the fellowship and assistantship awards is February 10, 2012, and the nomination for scholarships is March 2, 2012.  All nominations must be submitted by the graduate program coordinator to grad.awards@umit.maine.edu.

Information about the Financial Awards is also available on the Graduate School website within the Faculty Hub.  Faculty members will need to create an account (http://www.umaine.edu/graduate/user/register) to view this information, if they have not done so already.

UMA Exhibits Artwork by UMaine Graduate Students

 

The UMA Department of Art will host a group exhibition of artwork by current students and recent graduates of the four-year-old University of Maine Intermedia Master of Fine Arts (MFA) Program. The exhibition, titled Juxtapositions, will run from January 30 – February 17, with artist talks and reception from noon-5pm on Monday, January 30. The three-year MFA degree in Intermedia at the University of Maine provides graduate students with the opportunity to engage in innovative, artistic and theoretical work in a flexible program that encourages individual creative development within an interdisciplinary context. Graduate School Announces Graduate & Professional School Open House

The Graduate School in participation with many UM Departments and the Graduate Student Government will be holding a Open House for current undergraduate students interested in pursuing a master's or doctoral degree program at the University of Maine.  The Open House will be held on November 30th from 4-6pm at 42 Stodder Hall.  For a look at the flyer, please click here

Thesis Workshop Presentation and Handouts Available

The Graduate School has provided the Thesis Workshop Presentation and Handouts for those students, faculty or staff who are unable to attend the November 15th or November 16th sessions.  Both are in PDF format, and available within the Student Hub's Thesis Tools section, along with the Thesis Guidelines, How to Paginate with Roman & Arabic numbers, and other forms.
