CETA Workshop: Why Do You Need a Second Life?: Virtual Pedagogies and You

There will be a CETA Workshop - a free event and open to all faculty, instructors, staff and graduate students interested in teaching - Friday, February 10, 2012 from 10am - noon at Arthur St. John Hill Auditorium in Barrows Hall.  The flyer, which can be found here, has more information about the event.  Please register by February 7th by calling 581-3472 or email ceta@umit.maine.edu.  

Graduate School Has Opened Nominations for 2012-13 Financial Awards

The Graduate School is currently accepting nominations for competitively-awarded fellowships, assistantships and scholarships for the 2012-13 academic year (guidelines and e-nomination form).  The nomination deadline for the fellowship and assistantship awards is February 10, 2012, and the nomination for scholarships is March 2, 2012.  All nominations must be submitted by the graduate program coordinator to grad.awards@umit.maine.edu.

Information about the Financial Awards is also available on the Graduate School website within the Faculty Hub.  Faculty members will need to create an account (http://www.umaine.edu/graduate/user/register) to view this information, if they have not done so already.

UMA Exhibits Artwork by UMaine Graduate Students

 

The UMA Department of Art will host a group exhibition of artwork by current students and recent graduates of the four-year-old University of Maine Intermedia Master of Fine Arts (MFA) Program. The exhibition, titled Juxtapositions, will run from January 30 – February 17, with artist talks and reception from noon-5pm on Monday, January 30. The three-year MFA degree in Intermedia at the University of Maine provides graduate students with the opportunity to engage in innovative, artistic and theoretical work in a flexible program that encourages individual creative development within an interdisciplinary context.
