Tea and Cookies with the Graduate School Deans

Dear Grad Students,

To welcome you back to the new semester, we invite you to drop by the Graduate School on Tuesday, 10 January 2012, from 4-5:30 pm for tea, cookies, and informal chat with each other and the Grad School deans.

Graduate School Announces Graduate & Professional School Open House

The Graduate School in participation with many UM Departments and the Graduate Student Government will be holding a Open House for current undergraduate students interested in pursuing a master's or doctoral degree program at the University of Maine.  The Open House will be held on November 30th from 4-6pm at 42 Stodder Hall.  For a look at the flyer, please click here

Thesis Workshop Presentation and Handouts Available

The Graduate School has provided the Thesis Workshop Presentation and Handouts for those students, faculty or staff who are unable to attend the November 15th or November 16th sessions.  Both are in PDF format, and available within the Student Hub's Thesis Tools section, along with the Thesis Guidelines, How to Paginate with Roman & Arabic numbers, and other forms.  

Graduate School Announces Two Sessions of the Thesis Formatting Workshop

The Graduate School will be hosting two informative Thesis Workshop sessions November 15, from 4-6pm and November 16, from 1-3pm in Stodder Hall (Room TBD).  All graduate students, faculty and staff are welcome to attend either session.  We will cover many of the do's and don'ts found when reviewing theses.  Students should bring their laptop with the electronic copy of their thesis if possible.

Graduate School Requests Nominations for Presidential Teaching Fellowship

The Graduate School requests nominations for Presidential Teaching Fellowships to be awarded in Spring 2012 to doctoral students who have passed their comprehensive exams. Two to three fellowships will be awarded depending on funding.

Each Presidential Teaching Fellow will receive a stipend of $6,800 and one credit of tuition for the Spring 2012 semester.
