Master of Liberal Arts and Sciences New Media student, Jennifer Smith-Mayo received the 2010 graduate level Maine Studies Research and Creativity Award

Master of Liberal Arts and Sciences New Media student, Jennifer Smith-Mayo has won the 2010 graduate level Maine Studies Research and Creativity Award for her paper and video titled "Maine: The State of Local Food." This excellent multimedia project explores the emergence of Maine's local food movement in the context of the state's agricultural history and current interest in small farms and organic food.

Jennifer will receive her award, including a $250 prize made possible by the University of Maine Foundation, at the Division of Lifelong Learning Honors Ceremony on April 26th.
