Posted November 17th, 2009 - Ph.D. student Julie-Ann Scott recently won the Top Contributed Paper award for the Performance Studies Divison of the National Communication Association, for a paper titled "Cripping the Workspace: Physically Disabled Professionals Personal Narratives as Performance of Identity". Graduate students and faculty members can submit papers to appear on the top contributed paper panel at NCA. The top 4 of all submissions are chosen for presentation and the top paper receives a cash award. Julie-Ann's paper was accepted into this group of 4 and was subsequently chosen as the winner at the national meeting on November 12-15, 2009, in Chicapo. This is Julie-Ann's second time presenting on the contributed paper panel; she won the Top Debut Paper award for her a portion of her M.A. thesis in 2006.
