University of Maine Graduate School Offers New Degree Programs

The University of Maine System Board of Trustees recently approved several new graduate programs to be offered at the University of Maine.
Master of Arts in Global Policy
In response to student interest and a need for qualified public policy and international affairs professionals, the University of Maine has established a new master’s degree program in the School of Policy and International Affairs (SPIA). The program, a Master of Arts in Global Policy, will initially feature a concentration in International Environmental Policy with additional concentrations, such as International Commerce, International Security and International Public Health to be introduced as the program continues to evolve. Doctor of Philosophy in Education
The College of Education and Human Development will now offer a Doctor of Philosophy in Curriculum and Instruction for individuals who would like to pursue a terminal degree with a focus in teaching and learning. Additionally, many of the existing doctoral programs in Education will now have a Ph.D. option. The Counselor Education and Literacy Education programs will offer the Ph.D. degree exclusively, while the Educational Leadership and Higher Educational Leadership programs will offer both the Ph.D. and Ed.D. degrees.
