Construction began on rehabilitating Stodder Hall from undergraduate student housing to graduate housing in early 2008. The new Stodder Hall Graduate Center will house the Graduate School offices and the offices of the Graduate Student Government, and will offer flexible room arrangements for graduate students, all in the same location.

Director of Student and Administrative Support Services, Andrea Gifford received the 'University of Maine Graduate Dean's Recognition Award for Extraordinary Service to Graduate Studies at the University of Maine' at the Graduate Board Meeting in February. Dan Flannery, a student in the Intermedia MFA program has won a Grand Prize Award in the John Lennon Songwriting Contest. Flannery's song "One Wasn't Enough" won in the Children's category, and can be described as 'a catchy tune with funny lyrics.'
