Submit a grazing research initiative request to CSREES.
Submit a grazing research initiative request to ARS.
Submit a grazing research initiative request to Experiment Stations.
Send (hand deliver) a letter to Deans of Agriculture emphasizing the need for additional faculty/staff to work on grazing systems. (forages, economists, animal scientists, agricultural engineers).
Request NESARE program emphasize the six priorities.
Encourage Consortium members and others to seek funding from NESARE.
Encourage inclusion of pastures in SARE national and regional curriculum development programs.
Send a letter to e-Extension offering (w/appropriate support) the Consortium’s expertise in developing a pasture module.
New Models for Regional Research: Shared tuition at University of Massachusetts.
Bruce’s suggestion: Develop a team project that recruits animal science post-doc expertise.
SESSION 5: Consensus Recommendations

The private and public-sector recommendations were discussed further and consolidated into a list of consensus recommendations. The latter are described in detail in the business meeting minutes in Session 6, as “Action items for the Consortium to address in CY2005.” These action items were approved by the attendees.
