Le Forum
Le Forum is a bilingual (French and
English) journal edited and published through the cooperative efforts of
the Franco-American Center, students involved with the student group,
F.A.R.O.G., and members of the Maine and regional Franco-American
community. Dealing primarily with Franco-American facts and resources in
Maine and the region, Le Forum publishes articles, essays, poems and
short stories of a diverse ethnic and cultural nature, as well as four
to five specifically focused UMaine and regional pages, for which
materials are solicited.
The Maine Campus
The award-winning The Maine Campus
newspaper is published Monday, Wednesday, and Friday throughout the
school year on the first floor of the Memorial Union. It is written,
edited, and produced entirely by University of Maine students. The
newspaper offers students valuable experience in writing and reporting,
editing, graphics, photography, and advertising sales and design.
Students, regardless of their majors, are invited to join the staff and
also to use the newspaper as a forum through which to express their
opinions through letters to the editor. For further information, call
581-1271.
Printing Services
Printing Services has had a relationship
with students at the University of Maine for over eighty years.
Students enjoy the convenience of QC2, a full-service copy shop,
operated by Printing Services in the University Bookstore and Quick
Copy, the copy shop at the main location of Printing Services, in the
Keyo Public Affairs building. Also at the main location,
students may take advantage of the many one- and multicolor offset
printing options for their posters, brochures, newsletters, and
flyers. When reports become due, students head to Printing
Services for a wide range of binding options such as plastic comb,
plastic strip, thermal tape, three hole drilling, and even hardcover.
Other services that students use are lamination (24" wide, by any
length), and public faxing which is available for students who
otherwise may not have access to a fax machine. Hours are 8:30
a.m. to 4:00 p.m. for QC2 at the Bookstore and 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
at the Public Affairs location, Monday through Friday. Telephone
numbers are 581-3727 for QC2 and 581-3768 for the main location.
