University of Maine professors Elizabeth Allan and Mary Madden have recently completed the National Study on Student Hazing. A three-year research project, the study is based on responses from more than 11,000 undergraduate students at 54 colleges and universities around the U.S. It is, by far, the largest such examination of these issues ever conducted. The National Study on Hazing is also unique because it surveyed a cross-section of college students, rather than just student-athletes.
