I offer courses in Early Modern and Modern European history. I also
offer one course on the history of the Middle East. I regularly teach
the following courses: European Civilization 1700-present (HTY 106);
Europe 1648-1815 (HTY 407); Modern Italy 1796-present (HTY 429); The
Holocaust (HTY 410); Modern Middle East (HTY 411). I also offer a
graduate seminar in Early Modern Europe and a Senior Seminar on the
French Revolution and Napoleon. My area of research has focused on
Italian history in the 18th and early 19th centuries. Initially, I have
studied eighteenth century Lombardy, when that region was a part of the
Habsburg Empire. Currently, I am researching the Italian Peninsula, with
special emphasis on northern Italy, during the French Revolution and the
Napoleonic period. I am a member of the American Historical Association
and the Society of Italian Historical Studies.
