Building Receptionist

Positions are available to employees of the Associated C.O.L.T. Staff of the University of Maine from 07-11-08 through 07-17-08 and open to external applicants thereafter.
Description: Full-time, regular position, 40 hours per week, 5 days per week. Daily work hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Employee performs routine receptionist work and is responsible for the general welfare of the building. Work involves considerable routine contacts with members of the University community and general public. Some duties include but are not limited to: answering general questions from students and visitors; checking authorizations for access to the building; answering the phone and taking messages; making rounds of the building to check activities and lock rooms; reporting damage, problems and/or accidents; relieving other departmental personnel during breaks; updating bulletin boards; and may maintain orderly appearance of the reception area. This position will provide year round coverage to comply with HIPA regulations.
Qualifications:
Previous receptionist experience desired. Knowledge of and demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word; familiarity with Macs preferred. Familiarity with a patient care environment. Successful candidate must possess the ability to comprehend, carry out and relay multiple verbal and written instructions; judgment and initiative; excellent organization skills; attention to detail; the ability to work independently and good customer service skills required.
