This web site is designed to provide an overview of work/family policies. The University of Maine provides a variety of leave options to help employees balance their work and family responsibilities. Employees who need leave time for birth or adoption of a child, care of a sick family member, or other family responsibilities may use disability leave, annual leave, compensatory time, or leave without pay as described in the various categories. Questions about leave policies or specific situations can be answered by the Human Resources Employee Health and Benefits Office.
