Description:
Full-time, ten month (August–May), regular position, 40 hours per week, 5 days per week. Daily work hours are Monday - Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Employee performs routine and some specialized work in a student health center assisting physicians, physician assistants and nurse practitioners in patient care. Some duties include but are not limited to: interview patients and record their history; operate blood pressure cuffs and stethoscopes; update and maintain patient charts; screen calls and schedule appointments ordered by medical staff; assist medical staff with exams and/or procedures; performs routine and specialized tests; clean and restock exam rooms and sterilize instruments.
Qualifications:
Excellent communication and customer service skills and demonstrated ability to work with a diverse University population is required. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail required. Ability to work in a team-oriented environment with numerous interruptions. Candidate must possess the ability and knowledge to perform complex and difficult tasks. Must be able to lift 50lbs. and stand a majority of the day as required. Work includes the likely exposure to blood or other potentially infectious material. Hepatitis immunization will be made available. Pre-employment physical is required including Titmus, Ishihara and TB tests.
