Position is available to employees of the Associated C.O.L.T. Staff of the University of Maine from 06-27-08 through 07-03-08 and open to external applicants thereafter.
Description:
Part-time, regular position, 20 hours per week, 5 days per week. Daily work hours are flexible. Position is contingent on outside funding. Employee performs complex clerical work in a small publicly supported Cooperative Extension office. Employee operates all office equipment; performs receptionist work, screens calls, visitors and mail; types, creates, maintains and edits materials using word processing, database, spreadsheet, presentation, publication, web design and communication software; transcribes, assembles and disseminates information; picks up and delivers materials and supplies; processes confidential information; responds to inquiries and gives information in areas not requiring policy interpretation and occasionally answers questions and gives information about defined programmatic/personnel areas; maintains a complex filing system; prepares purchase requisitions or purchase orders and controls office supplies and equipment; maintains and reconciles financial records.
Qualifications:
Knowledge of and demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Access, and Excel are required. Experience in handling office bookkeeping, bank deposits, reconciliation of accounts and processing confidential information required. Strong written and verbal communication skills; judgment and initiative; excellent organization skills; attention to detail; the ability to work independently and good customer service skills required.
