Description:
Full-time, regular position, 40 hours per week, 5 days per week. Daily work hours are 7:30am to 4:30pm. Position is fixed length, funded through June 30, 2009. Position is located on the Farmington campus of the University of Maine. Employee oversees a satellite office for a high volume reproduction operation in a full service print shop. Employee programs, sets up and operates complex reprographic or digital computerized production equipment for reproduction or copying purposes. Employee also operates simple bindery equipment. Employee will initiate job orders according to customer specifications for Farmington departments, performing the work itself on site or transmitting to the Orono campus for completion. Employee will estimate routine costs for production work, advise customers about printing options and timeframes for completion of work, order supplies, and prepare billing forms. Employee performs minor and preventative maintenance and schedules maintenance from vendors. Employee serves as liaison between UMF departments and UM Printing & Mailing Services.
Qualifications:
Demonstrated successful experience in a printing environment for at least five years is required. Specific experience with manual folders, punches, and digital reproduction equipment is necessary. Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills required. Ability to work independently within a structured set of procedures required. Familiarity with PC required. Experience with Word, Excel, FilemakerPro and Adobe Creative Suite is preferred. Knowledge of departments and staff on the UMF campus as well as current procedures related to UMF printing is preferred.
