Program Aide I - Senior Companion Program

Department: Cooperative Extension - Hancock/Waldo/Knox-Lincoln Counties

Hourly Wage:$10.79

Description:

Part-time, regular position, 20 hours per week, 5 days per week. Daily work hours are flexible to meet the needs of the program with some night and weekend work required. This position is Contingent on Funding. The University of Maine Cooperative Extension is seeking a Program Aide I to support the Senior Companion Program (SCP) and related activities in Hancock/Waldo/Knox-Lincoln Counties. Employee will recruit volunteers to assist in and enroll clients in UMaine Cooperative Extension programs; maintains records and submits periodic reports; operates audiovisual equipment; may develop and/or adapt educational materials; works with local community organizations or agencies as assigned and performs statewide program and support duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

A high school diploma or equivalent and the ability to travel usually requiring a valid driver’s license are required. Mileage reimbursed at $0.40 per mile. Prior experience working with older adults is preferred with experience working with volunteer programs and volunteer recruitment helpful. Familiarity with or interest in using computers for communications, record keeping and reporting preferred. A Driver's License and State Bureau of Investigation check required.
