Dawn Taylor
Administrative Assistant II
Auxiliary Services
Dawn is a loyal and dedicated employee of The University of Maine and Black Bear Dining. Dawn is a key member of the Black Bear Catering operation, as she is the first contact with clients and assists them in making the necessary arrangements for their functions which include room scheduling, menu selection, set-up needs, confirmations and the most important detail, Peoplesoft chartfields for billing!
Dawn is also the link within the operation that disseminates the information by entering the data into the Eatec Menu Management System and provides the function sheets to the kitchen and the front of the house. She does an unbelievable job in tracking upcoming events as well as closing out past events and submitting them to be billed. Most importantly though, Dawn is able to keep Bill Dalton on track and organized, well, at least on track!
Dawn is willing to do whatever it takes to make sure clients receive the product and service expected. She enters the kitchen fearlessly to announce an increase in an order that has just been completed or to track down an order that is late (although this rarely happens)! Truly taking her life in her own hands by asking a kitchen full of knife wielding professionals if we could possibly take one more order on what has to be the busiest day ever! Dawn, you have earned our respect!
This past year, Dawn became a grandmother not once, but twice! You can see the pride and joy that Jacob and Aiden have brought to her. We’re sure she is looking forward to family camping and spending time with them at Matagamon.
Dawn has been a real asset to the Black Bear Catering operation over the years. We missed her greatly when she temporarily strayed away to Athletics, but were deeply relieved when she returned to where she truly belongs. Thank-you, Dawn, for your twenty-five years of service to the University of Maine.
