Ruth Doucette
Tutor Coordinator
College Success Program

Ruth Doucette came to the Financial Aid Office at the University of Maine in 1981.  In 1985 she joined the Onward Program which would later become the College Success Programs as the Tutor Coordinator. When Ruth joined Onward, tutoring services were relatively new to the Program and served less than 100 students. Through her skill and professionalism, the Tutor Program now serves between 650 and 750 students each year.

Ruth is a founding member and former president of the National Tutoring Association, a member of the College Reading and Learning Association, the National Association of Developmental Educators, and the Association of Tutoring Professionals. She presented in March 2006 at the National On Course Workshop where she was asked to be an Ambassador for On Course.

Ruth was a tireless and devoted University of Maine employee. Students who have received Tutor Program services have benefited enormously from her devotion to her work.   We wish you the very best wishes upon your retirement.
