Wayne Robichaud
Custodian II, Facilities Management
Wayne Robichaud has spent his career at the University of Maine taking care of others and the spaces they occupied. As a dedicated long-term employee, Wayne has worked as a Custodian in a variety of places across campus. These academic buildings have been made brighter not only by his custodial work, but by his personality.
Wayne is best known for his positive attitude and consideration of others. No matter what problem or difficult circumstance might arise, he was able to keep his sense of humor intact and find the humor in the situation. His friendly disposition and quick grin have brought many smiles to others. Those who worked with him and around him are well aware that Wayne has the ability to brighten anyone’s day. After a brief talk with him people just seem to feel better. Some would even consider this talent a stronger asset to the campus than his job skills because he can have you laughing in no time at all.
Wayne has been an avid collector of memorabilia since he was young and finds great enjoyment in searching through Goodwill stores and the like for lost treasures. Now that he’s retired, he can spend more time with his family – especially his granddaughter. The happiest retirement for Wayne would include watching his granddaughter grow up and being able to spend time with her. Now that he’s bought a house in Florida, he can do exactly that! Thank you, Wayne, for your 27 years of dedicated service to the University of Maine and congratulations, from Facilities to Florida, we wish you the best.
