Student Records
Jan Williams started at the University of Maine as a high school student and has spent the past 40 and 1/2 years making the university a better place for faculty, staff and students. She grew from a position of a clerk to an Associate Director over her time in the Office of Student Records and a "Go to" person for many a person on campus.
Among Jan's greatest strengths are her organizational and communication skills. One of Jan greatest achievements has been her organization of the course file and classroom scheduling for the university. Since her departure in late December things are not quite as neat and organized as they once were or quite as “tickety boo”, using Jan’s phrase.
Jan's legacy will be the Commencement Ceremony. Year after year commencement grew larger and more complicated and each year Jan would rise to the occasion and make that year even better than the last. She made graduation a well-managed and fun event for all to be a part of--an especially significant and memorable event for our graduates and their families.
