            Dr. Michael Boyle has been a great member of the Mechanical Engineering Department for over 25 years. The enthusiasm and energy of Mike in our academic environment of teaching, advising and research is truly unique and outstanding. He is the kind of professor who is always concerned and interested in how effectively we teach our students.  Colleagues admire and respect him for his dedication and determination to teaching and advising.

            Whenever Mechanical Engineering has an open house or participates in an event in which we need to show off our exciting teaching and research projects, it is Mike Boyle that makes it all happen. His services to the College of Engineering are also truly outstanding. Mike is just a wonderful individual and colleague to work with and have as an academician at UMaine. 

            On a personal note, Mike’s attachment to and love of chocolate is unbelievable. He can make chocolate scrambled eggs for breakfast and have a dinner made entirely of chocolate with a glass of wine for dinner.
