Bonnie Clark
Nurse Practitioner
Cutler Health Center

Bonnie Clark has served the University of Maine’s nursing staff at Cutler Health Center for 21 years. During her appointment Bonnie furthered her education and received advanced certification as a Women’s Health Care Nurse Practitioner in 1993. She was promoted to the position of Nurse Practitioner, which she has held for 16 years.

Her provider role focused on providing women’s health care services for the campus community. She has received frequent acknowledgement from her patients and their parents for her compassion, strength and advocacy for their health and wellbeing while they attended the University. She was an active participant in developing women’s health services on campus. She was a partner and leader in establishing women’s health services at Cutler Health Center. She allocated time to participate in related campus initiatives, such as the Rape Awareness Committee, Safe Campus Project, Family Planning, and Women’s Resource Center. In addition, she provided support to local area women’s services such as Spruce Run, Mabel Wadsworth Women’s Health Center and many others.

Bonnie served as a member of the management team at Cutler Health Center providing leadership in areas of Quality Assurance, Patient Safety, and spearheaded an Ambulatory Care Clinic accreditation initiative.

Bonnie worked countless hours reaching out to students in their social environment. She presented annually at sororities, fraternities, and residential halls. These presentations consisted of informing the students of available women’s health services on campus including the appropriate use of prophylactic devices, nutrition and women’s health concerns. She was a guest presenter for the Peer Educator Student Group as well as a serving as expert resource in developing their programs. .

Bonnie is a very dedicated health care provider and her colleagues have expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to have served with her at Cutler Health Center.
