Gale Clendenning
Secretary
Cooperative Extension

Gale worked for the University of Maine for nearly a dozen years. Most of her tenure was spent at the Hill House. Due in part to the crazy and busy schedules of the people who worked in this office, there may have been times when she might have considered changing the “i” to an “e”. But, Gale endured and was an integral and appreciated part of the team.

Gale was an excellent interface with the public. She enjoyed helping people find what they needed. She was always patient, kind and helpful – important traits that support the service mission of Cooperative Extension.

Another really helpful role Gale assumed was that of student shepherd. She would welcome every student that worked in the office, assisted with their various projects or those just looking for help, and she made all of them feel at home. She took a genuine interest in their well being and that was a true gift for busy people trying to juggle priorities and manage deadlines.

Gale’s colleagues admired and respected her great attitude, spirit, and sense of humor. Gail, thank you for everything you have done for Cooperative Extension and the University of Maine. Best wishes in your retirement.
