Deanna Damboise
Child Care Assistant Teacher
Children’s Center
Deanna worked in the University of Maine’s Infant Childcare Program from January 2001 through July 2008. As a Child Care Teacher Aide and then as an Assistant Teacher, she worked hard to nurture our very youngest children and the essence of University’s Infant and Toddler Day Care Program. On a day-to-day basis, Deanna communicated effectively with co-workers, University students and the children’s parents. In recognition of her commitment to the early childhood education profession, Deanna was awarded a Child Development Associate Credential by the Council for Early Childhood Professional Recognition in 2003.
During her seven-and-a-half years with the Children’s Center, Deanna’s involvement as a regular staff member helped insure a much needed sense of stability and focus within the Infant Program. The young lives she became a part of and the families she touched will remember her with great fondness.
Deanna shared many special times with her coworkers caring for the infants entrusted to our care. She was a model teach and everyone who worked with her learned a great deal. Deanna’s old-school dedication to the University and the Children’s Center will be missed; but, it is gratifying to know that she will be able to enjoy a well earned retirement.
Thank you, Deanna, we wish you the very best in retirement!
