Anthony Guay
Bindery Machine Operator
Printing and Mailing Services

Tony was hired by the University in 1978 as an Apprentice Printer. During his career at Printing Services, Tony saw significant changes with the equipment and technology used to produce printed materials for the University. He continued to learn new skills to keep pace with these changes and received several promotions as his knowledge of the printing process increased. Tony's skills included operating a 42" cutter, handling shipping and receiving duties, and the responsibility for ensuring that Printing Services staff had the correct paper stock and other supplies available for customer orders.

Tony was known for his willingness to come in early when necessary or even work extra hours if necessary for production. This kind of dedication has been important for Printing Services because of their dedication to provide the highest level of customer service and produce an excellent product.

For many years, Tony was the Service and Maintenance shop steward and his sincere and open communication style, ability to remain calm (and willingness to encourage others to do the same), and follow through were appreciated.

Tony's long and loyal service to the University of Maine is appreciated and we wish him an enjoyable and well deserved retirement. Congratulations Tony!
