Jackie Jones
Office Manager
Office of Admissions
Jackie started her University of Maine career in the College of Education in 1984. From there, she moved to Athletics. It didn't take long for them to recognize her strong communication skills her talents in organization and her attention to detail. She moved to External Affairs/Sports Information and then to the Athletic Director's Office. In 1998 the Office of Admissions hired Jackie and she was quickly promoted to Office Manager.
In Admissions she has demonstrated her excellent administrative skills by helping us survive our conversion to PeopleSoft and document imaging. To help the office keep up with changes she created and regularly updates the office manual. She is responsible for the annual NEACAC Regional College Fair on campus. Jackie, an excellent team player, is always willing to help no matter what the task. She has a fantastic work ethic and her contributions to the office have been significant.
Jackie is an avid Red Sox fan, which is apparent when you enter her office, and despite her team loyalty - she does allow Yankee fans into her office. Jackie is proud of her son, Ryan, a USM business student. She has a new cat Griffie, named for ex-Red Sox player Ken Griffie, Jr. Thanks to Griffie, she only had her Christmas tree up for one day. She is a loyal friend, which she demonstrated as she walked through Hurricane Ike’s drenching rain in a recent diabetes walk. Her colleagues and supervisors express their pride and gratitude for being able to work with Jackie and hope she stays for another 25 years.
Thank you, Jackie, for your fantastic 25 years of service to the University of Maine.
