Mary Malone
Lead Degree Auditor/ Training Specialist
Student Records
Mary Malone worked for the Office of Student Records for 18 years before her retirement in December of 2008. She started as a classified employee and through her hard work, dedication, and willingness to take on more responsibility she earned herself a professional position in 1998. Mary was well liked on campus and was best known for her customer service and assistance to staff in the academic departments and colleges.
Mary also knew the student information system, ISIS, inside and out and was very adept at programming against ISIS to provide needed lists and reports to the public and campus at large. On campus she will be most remembered in the area of Degree Audit. She had her hand in building two different Degree Audit Systems during her time at UM.
Mary also was well versed and ultimately became the administrator of the standardized tests with both Miller’s Analogy Test and all Educational Testing Service testing on campus, unselfishly giving up many of her weekends in the process. Mary was also active as a volunteer and served as a member of the Professional Employee Advisory Council.
It’s been four months since Mary’s retirement and many people she had helped over the past 18 years still ask for her, which signals how helpful, knowledgeable and well liked she was.
We wish her happiness in her retirement in California and hope she comes back to campus for a visit. Mary, best wishes and thank you.
