Lucille Stewart
Administrative Assistant I
Farms and University Forest

Lucille has spent most all of her 25 year career with the University of Maine as an Administrative Assistant at Aroostook Farm. She has earned the respect and admiration of her coworkers and the many researchers who depend on her to assist them with the oftentimes daunting task of research administration. Whether the problem involves issues like coding invoices, timekeeping or temporary employment issues, Lucille is always there to help with a positive attitude and productive suggestions that reveal the extent of her experience at Aroostook Farm. During her career, she has witnessed many changes that have directly affected and most often complicated her workload. She has mastered the technological improvements the University has adopted in the last few years. Throughout all of these challenges she retains her optimism, and is a conscientious, productive and loyal employee who presents herself in a professional way, every day at work.

Lucille is deeply connected with agriculture, and is no stranger to hard work. She and her husband also operate a successful potato and vegetable farm that sells directly to the public. They have created a welcoming farm home atmosphere at their farm while maintaining the reputation of producing high quality food. It is no surprise that Lucille is well respected and admired in the community. Her warm and friendly personality is contagious.

Lucille is currently working under her third consecutive farm manager at Aroostook Farm. It is no secret that she is the “secret weapon” at the farm, and that her flawless work ethic, experience, and personality combine to help present the farm as a modern University research facility.

Aroostook Farm and the University of Maine thank you Lucille, for your continuing service and your 25 years of outstanding commitment to the University community!
