Alison Volking

Alison Volking was an outstanding employee who served the University of Maine in many ways but always with dedication, skill, loyalty and a smile. Alison first joined the University of Maine 32 years ago.

Her initial assignment was in the Vice President for Research Office. Later she joined the Department of Plant, Soil and Environmental Sciences where she was recognized as a valuable member of the unit. Alison left the University briefly before subsequently returning to a position in Purchasing.

In January 1999, Alison joined the business office staff of the College of Natural Sciences, Forestry and Agriculture plus the Maine Agricultural and Forest Experiment Station. Alison held several positions with progressively increasing responsibility; culminating in her being named Financial Manager of NSFA / MAFES. Alison was indispensable to the College and Experiment Station. She met many challenges and used her trouble shooting skills, attention to detail and dedication to find solutions. Alison was recognized by co-workers as a team player, a friendly colleague and valued member of the College. Her many years of service and contributions are most appreciated.
