| Flame
Sculpture Courtyard -

Clark FitzGerald, Castine sculptor, created the "Flame of Inspiration," as a chandelier for the original lobby of the Maine Center for the Arts. The Class of '42 supported the sculpture and the adjoining 2nd level gallery. As part of the renovation project, the "Flame of Inspiration" will be relocated to a sculpture courtyard in front of the building, serving as a beacon for all who visit. Your gift will support relocating this work, creating a new base, installing appropriate lighting and housings for this work.. |

Glass Atrium

A new glass entry, which presents a dynamic and inviting approach to the facility for visitors, will replace the current building exterior and portico. This glass envelope will allow visitors to see into the building, enticing them to enter. Three story, digitally projected banners with information about upcoming MCA events and special Museum exhibitions and programs will be showcased on the lobby's walls Activity on all levels of the facility, including the Bodwell Area and Museum galleries will be visible from the building's faÁade. |

Entry Plaza

Inside this enclosed entry, patrons may wait for their parties to pick them up, peruse the Maine Center for the Arts Shop or pick-up tickets for upcoming events. |

Maine Center
for the Arts Shop

Located in the glass atrium at ground level the Shop will beckon visitors into the building. Merchandise including reproductions from the Museum's collection and unique gifts will be featured. The space will include an office for the shop manager and storage for store inventory. |

Box Office

Patrons will be able to purchase and pick-up event tickets at a new box office, in the atrium. This new space will feature larger ticket windows and improved ticketing systems, as well as an office for the box office manager. |

Visitors first stop on their Museum experience, providing information about the facility as well as welcoming visitors to the University of Maine. |

Maine Center
for the Arts CafÈ

Patrons of arts facilities demand a higher level of visitor amenities, including the ability to enjoy refreshments as part of their cultural experience. The cafÈ will seat 75 patrons and be open during both Museum and MCA hours, as well as for special events and conferences. |

Classroom/Conference

This space immediately adjacent to the Museum's collection facilities in the Class of '44 Hall, will serve as a collection study center for UMaine students, elementary and secondary school children. The Museum's reference library will be housed here as well. The room may also be used as a conference room and is adjacent to catering facilities. |

Manager of
MCA Operations Office

This office is the "control room," orchestrating all the behind the scenes activities involved with building performances and events, making sure that contractual obligations to performers and companies are executed, and managing ushers and ticket takers. |
