International Admissions
Each year more than 400 international students and scholars from some 75 countries join the University of Maine. As the landgrant and seagrant university for the State of Maine, the University offers a full range of degree programs, cutting edge research opportunities, the largest academic library in the State, an Honors College, a wireless campus and computer clusters, and more than 200 students clubs. The University is located on 600 beautiful acres in a traditional New England setting, and offers a friendly and safe environment.
The University also offers an Intensive English Institute, and has an International Student Association.
Students have many recreational opportunities on campus and in the community. There are miles of cycling and walking paths on campus, and cross-country ski trails in the winter. The Office of International Programs sponsors trips throughout the state, and an annual "Culturefest" celebration.
