About Global Links
Global education is a lifelong learning process which leads to an understanding and appreciation of our changing world and its diversities, inter-relationships and opportunities. Global Links brings University of Maine international students into classrooms, club meetings and gatherings on campus and in the surrounding community. Each year, UMaine students from around the world are invited by local elementary and high schools, church groups, and social clubs, as well as University of Maine professors, to talk about their countries and home cultures. Global Links benefits everyone involved.

Information for the Host School, Class or Group
Global Links can add dynamic presentations and interactive activities in your classroom, club meeting or gathering. It can expose your students/members to a variety of world viewpoints and a new way to look at the world. Furthermore, it provides opportunities for your students/members to ask questions about a country or culture of someone who is "from there."
" Lydia and Andre were wonderful. They captured my kids' interest right away. After you all left, I had them draw about your visit, letting me know they had learned something. They got right down to business and gave me some great papers. What a fantastic lesson in 'global links'! ....I think it's so important for all of us to meet real, live people from other cultures."
