International Students Association By-Law

Mission.

The purpose of ISA is to bring International Students together as a unit and organize various activities which can not only enrich our lives but also those surrounding us.


Article I. Name

The name of this organization will be The International Student Association.


Article II. Purpose/Objective

Section 1.
Represent International Students at the University of Maine.

Section 2.
Create an open atmosphere for every one in the University community to interact with the International Students, and an atmosphere for International Students to interact with each other.

Section 3.
Establish communication between International Students and administration.

Section 4.
Make the University aware of the importance of the presence of International diversity on campus through events like Culturefest and Spring Festival.


Article III. Membership

Membership is given to any person that attends the meeting or events of the International Student Association and registers with the officers of the association.


Article IV. Officers

Officers of the International Student Association will consist of a President, Vice-President, Treasurer, and Secretary. Officers will be elected by the members at the weekly meeting of “International Coffee Hour”. The duration of their term is one year. The elections will be held in April of each year. Sufficient notice of the dates of nominations and elections must be given to all members.
