Course Description:
This year’s travel study abroad course to Russia will focus on International Entrepreneurship. Starting a new business is always a challenge, starting a new business in a foreign climate is even more difficult. But the rewards for such an adventure can be much higher. In this course we will hear firsthand from businessmen and women who have started businesses in Russia and succeeded. Individuals from several countries will share their approaches and successes in this regard.
Our trip to Syktyvkar will enable us to look at small businesses in that region and how they have succeeded.In addition, we will experience the richness of two of Russia’s greatest cities—Moscow and St. Petersburg. A highlight of the trip is our visiting Syktyvkar State University and living with students and their families as we absorb the culture of small town Russia.
