Telecom: Authorization Codes

Departmental:

Our cellular provider is US Cellular. Departments that wish to purchase their own cellular phones may contact Lorelei Kennedy at 1-1609. She will provide them with the proper forms and information as to the use policy and equipment available. The department should allow a week for delivery of their new phone.
Pay As You Go: $3.50 per month, *$.03 cents per minute for calls placed/received within Maine. Calls placed/received outside of Maine are $.30 per minute. Included is: Voicemail, Caller ID, Call Waiting, Incoming Text Messages, Detailed Billing

National Plan: $7.50 per month, *$.03 cents per minute for calls placed/received within 50 States,
Included is: Voicemail, Caller ID, Call Waiting, Incoming Text Messages, Detailed Billing

All accessories are still 25% off if purchased through the IT Department.
Contracts are two years but you can upgrade without penalty after your 18th month of service.

Rental:

Telecommunications has cellular phones to rent on a daily/weekly basis (with a two week limit) to departments or other campus organizations who have C & I accounts. These units are portable and may be operated from the cigarette lighter of a vehicle or for short periods of time via the attached battery pack (talk time will decrease stand-by time).

Many areas in the State of Maine have cellular coverage, however, some areas in Northwestern
Maine and Washington/Hancock counties will have limited coverage. If you have questions
regarding cellular coverage on your expected route, please contact Lorelei at 581-1609.

Also, while the rented phone is in your possession you are responsible for its care. If it is
dropped, damaged or stolen, you will be charged the replacement cost.

The rental rates DO NOT include the costs for calls made. Actual charges for calls may take up to 60 days to appear on your bill. Rentals are scheduled on a first come first serve basis, so please schedule as many days in advance as possible.
