Math Placement Test

As a new student, you will need to take a math placement exam. The exam is on the web and should be taken ASAP to ease your course registration. Your test results are used by your college/school to place you in the appropriate course according to your strengths and skills.

To take the exam please go to https://webct.umaine.edu and, after logging in, select "MAT 001 - Math Placement Exam" from your course list. You will be asked to enter your UMS (University of Maine System) ID and password. Your UMS id is used by the System office for notifications (@maine.edu email), and for access to WebCT, Blackboard, Peoplesoft, wireless and dialup. If you have not already done so, you can activate your account online at http://mail.maine.edu/ . If you require assistance please phone the IT Help Center at 207-581-2506 or through the new in-state toll free number, 1-866-560-6280.

*** Please note that it may take up to 24 hours after activating your UMS account for you to be able to access the math placement exam.
