It has come to our attention that some people here have again received emails requesting confirmation of their @maine.edu email address and password. Please do not respond to the email should you receive it, IT IS NOT LEGITIMATE. It is what is commonly known as a phishing scam. In order to protect your information, we are taking steps to block the email and response to it from inside our network.

A sample of the email is included below:

The new Maine™ Webmail is a fast and light-weight appliction to quickly and easily access your e-mail. We are currently upgrading our data base and e-mail center. We are deleting Maine™ Webmail to create more space for new email.
To prevent your email from closing you will have to update it below so that we will know that it's a present used email.
