Dear UMaine Students and Faculty Members,

Recently there was an ad in the campus newspaper offering a service for students to check the originality of their school work on line for a $4.95/paper fee.  As a member of the UMaine community you are entitled to a free unlimited license for www.turnitin.com.  TurnItIn allows you to upload a paper to their website and receive a score based upon the overall originality of the work. 

To avail yourself of this service, please go to http://www.umaine.edu/it/forms/turnitin.php and submit a request.   You will receive instructions regarding setting up your TurnItIn account.  Once you have created an account you may upload as many documents as you like to check their originality.
