Firstclass Installation Instructions

Microsoft Windows

1. Download and run the Firstclass Installer for Microsoft Windows.
2. Click here to setup FirstClass for use with the University of Maine's FirstClass server.
3. Enter your username and password and connect. (Need access?)

Apple OS X

1. Download and decompress Firstclass v. 11 for Apple OS X.
2. Run the FirstClass client and click setup.
3. Type fc.umit.maine.edu in the server field and click save.
4. Enter your username and password and connect. (Need access?)

Linux/Unix

FirstClass for Linux/Unix Beta: due to the nature of beta software and the number of Unix/Linux distributions we can not provide detailed instructions for installing FirstClass nor technical support on any of these operating systems.

If you can't get the client working on your machine, you can always use the web-based version.

1. Install the package that suites your operating enviroment.
2. Run the FirstClass client and click setup.
3. Type fc.umit.maine.edu in the server field and click save.
4. Enter your username and password and connect. (Need access?)
