Theoretical Modeling

Theoretical studies and model calculations are performed on a variety of systems to determine the mechanisms behind surface, interface, and thin film processes. These efforts, particularly in the areas of surface phase transitions and thin film growth processes, complement the experimental work being carried out at LASST. Modeling is also extensively used in conjunction with the design of new instrumentation and microfabricated devices.
