Brothers Helping Others

One of the many interesting things about the Lambda Chi Alpha chapter at UMaine is our strive for academics and community service. On a local level we are constantly searching for new ways we can help improve the University community. More on a public level however, Lambda Chi every year has an enormous community food drive that is also participated by every Lambda Chi chapter across the US and Canada. Year after year, we collect thousands of pounds of food and donate to food banks, soup kitchens, and needy families.

To complement our food drive we also do many other community service projects, known as philanthropies, throughout the semester as well. Currently we are working with the Big Brothers/Big Sisters organization and will be spending time helping out there in the near future. Also, you can see us at the University of Maine basketball games selling 50/50 raffle tickets. We have also obtained the Kelly Road in Orono, thanks to the local Adopt-A-Highway program. Drive by...you might see us cleaning up right now!
