 Scholarships and Grants 

Numerous scholarships and grants are available to students through a variety of sources such as: national, state and local horticulture societies as well as the University of Maine, the College of Natural Sciences, Forestry, & Agriculture and the Department of Plant, Soil & Environmental Sciences.

The Horticulture Program Awards
The Horticulture Program provides financial assistance to students majoring in Landscape Horticulture. The awards are administered by the Horticulture faculty and are made available through the generosity of the following gifts:

 

The Robert and Catherine Barrett Landscape Horticulture Fund
This fund is use to provide scholar assistance for undergraduate students enrolled in Landscape Horticulture who show a dedication to horticulture a graduate student enrolled in Hortuculture with an emphasis in plant introduction. Recepients of this fund are know as the Beatrix Ferrand Scholars.

The Ornamental Horticulture Scholarship Fund
This fund is use to provide scholar assistance for students majoring in Landscape Horticulture based on scholarship, character and potential contribution to the ornamental landscape industry.

The Lyle E. Littlefield Prize
The prize is given to an outstanding senior enrolled in the Landscape Horticulture Program who has demonstrated a passion for horticulture.

The New England Farm and Garden Association Scholarship Fund Margaret McKee Gerrity Scholarship
This award is given to a student majoring in Landscape Horticulture who shows a dedication to horticulture.

The Arthur C. Clayton Horticulture Scholarship Fund
A scholarship is given to students who are residents of Maine majoring in Landscape Horticulture. Preference shall be given to students who demonstrate a desire to pursue a career in horticulture.

The Jane M. McCabe Memorial Horticulture Scholarship Fund
This fund is use to provide scholar assistance for students majoring in Landscape Horticulture who have either financial need or a high academic standing in the Landscape Horticulture Program.

The Eastern Maine Orchid Society Book Award
This award is given to a full-time junior who is interested in pursuing a professional career in Greenhouse and/or Nursery Management, is a Maine resident and has a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
