Q: I've lost my card, what should I do?
A: Since your MaineCard is your access to residence halls, meals, Black Bear Bucks and dining funds, it's important to declare your card lost ASAP. You can stop by the Student Service Center during business hours , call Public Safety during non-business hours, or declare it lost through the Online Card Office. As soon as possible you should come to the Student Service Center and get a replacement MaineCard.
Q: If I lose my card at night or on the weekend, how do I eat and get into my hall?
A: Dining Services has set up a Lost Card counter for all on-campus residents with a board plan. This means you can eat 7 meals without your card before you're denied access to the dining commons. To get into your hall, you will need to call a friend, residence hall staff, or Public Safety to let you in.
Q: How do I put money on my card?
A: There are several ways to put money on your card. Dining Funds are automatically included with on-campus meal plans, and are on your card. Commuters can purchase Dining Funds at the Student Service Center. Black Bear Bucks can be purchased at the Student Service Center (cash, check, or credit card), at the Library's Value Transfer Station (cash only) located near the circulation desk, or through the Online Card Office (VISA and MasterCard only). Funds can also be added to your card at the kiosks located in the Memorial Union and Hilltop.
Q: How do I change my meal plan?
A: Meal plan changes must be completed online. Click here to change your plan. You are allowed to make ONE change during the first four weeks of each semester.
Q: What's the difference between Dining Funds and Black Bear Bucks, and where can I use them?
A: Dining Funds are a part of on-campus and commuter meal plans. These funds can be used at ALL dining locations on campus. You can pay for Dining Funds by cash, check, credit card, or charge them to your student account. Dining Funds are non-refundable.
