MGS Seeks to Partner with Other Organizations to Plan Educational Programming

MGS is interested in promoting partnerships, including co-sponsorships or working agreements, with organizations and associations as a means of offering a wide range of educational programs related to aging, practice, research and policy development in the state of Maine. Creative options for partnerships are encouraged including, conferences, training workshops, symposia, colloquia, and other forums as learning venues for medical, health care, and social service professionals, academics, students, policy makers, and others interested in the field of aging.

Please contact a member of the Maine Gerontological Society Board of Directors to discuss any ideas that you may have.

The Maine Gerontological Society (MGS) is a statewide association of individuals interested in issues impacting older adults in the state of Maine. The Society has the charge of serving as the leading interdisciplinary association on aging in the state focusing on aging education, practice and research in policy perspective.

Two attendees enjoy the networking opportunities during the conferenceThe Society is dedicated to giving equal voice to the diverse interests of the academic, practice and general communities and promoting active participation by administrators and planners, policymakers, practitioners, educators, researchers, business people, students, older adults, and others.

Programs of the MGS emphasize the offering of education and training opportunities for those who want to be well informed and play an active role in shaping aging policy and services in the years to come. The fact that Maine is the oldest state in the nation in terms of the age of its citizenry insures that the Society will continue to have a crucial role to play in the years ahead.
