UMaine Researcher Joins Group Examining Potential Iron Fertilization of Oceans

A University of Maine oceanographer is representing the university in a new consortium exploring the potential impact of iron fertilization of the oceans in order to reduce the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.

Bruce Sidell

As many of you may already know, Dr. Bruce Sidell, founding Director of the School of Marine Sciences and Professor of Marine Sciences, Cooperating Professor of Zoology and Biochemistry, died February 8th at his home after a brave fight with cancer. At Bruce's request there will be no formal services. Friends are invited to call from 6-8pm on Thursday, February 10 at the Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main Street, Old Town, located across the street from Holy Family Parish.
