Biological-physical interactions, computational ecosystem dynamics, ocean photogrammetry

Research interests

I run Dr. Andrew Pershing's Ecosystem Modeling Lab, located at the Gulf of Maine Research Institute in Portland. Our largest project currently is using SEASCAPE (Satellite-based Estimates and Analysis of Stage-resolved Copepod Abundance in Pelagic Ecosystems) as a tool for forcasting copepod and right whale distributions. We are also working on a photogrammetric system to observe sea surface films in Portland Harbor, and a few other projects, which you can read about on our blog: www.seascapemodeling.org/seascape_projects
